Product DescriptionBruce Cameron is “the talk of parents nationwide” (People). He is “a brilliantly funny writer . . . in the tradition of James Thurber. He is so funny he makes you think that being a grown-up isn’t such a crummy deal after all” (Cathryn Michon, author of The Girl Genius Guide to Life); his observations are “warm and funny, exhibiting just the right mix of laughs and love” (Kansas City Star), and “rich with tongue-in-cheek fatherly wisdom” (Cincinnati Enquirer). Looking at the reviews here, it seems that a lot of people can relate to the author’s experiences. Basically what that tells me is that there is a lot of bad parenting going on these days. For example, when I was growing up, I never talked back to my parents or slammed my bedroom door in protest to something they did or said. In fact, I never even THOUGHT about it. If I had ever done such a thing, I guarantee you it would’ve never happened more than once!! Mind you, my dad was not a cruel man and not really very strict, but being disrespectful (like the kids are in this book) was something that was simply not tolerated. My mom recently told me a story – the first time my parents took me to a restaurant when I was little and I started screaming and carrying on like most kids do, my dad took me out to the parking lot and beat my a**. After that, they never had any problems with me in public again. I guess there’s nothing like a belt to make a misbehaving kid see the error of their ways
When I first started reading this book, I thought some of the stories were pretty funny, but in a sad sort of way. As I kept reading, I began to think that this guy was simply unfit to be a parent. Hint: If your kids act this way, you might try a little thing called discipline instead of letting your kids walk all over you.

This is hands-down the funnies book I’ve ever read. If you don’t laugh out loud every page something is seriously wrong.
